See item 6 above on new team registration.
PLAY & PARTICIPATION
- All matches will follow standard USGA & IGA rules of play.
- Spring League Format is Two-Man Team Bestball Match Play
- Summer League Format is Two-Man Teams playing individual singles Match Play.
- The A players from each team will play against each other.
- The B players from each team will play against each other.
- Team partners must have a handicap spread no greater than seven strokes.
- Team partners MUST both be BRMA members at time of registration and payment.
- Participants MUST have an active and current GHIN handicap at the time of registration and payment.
- The league will be flighted based on the low handicap player on a team.
- No Makeup Rounds will be made available per Boise Ranch Golf Course.
HANDICAPS
- GHIN Playing Handicaps will be used for league play and will be based on the tee box being played.
- Handicap Strokes will be determined using the lowest Playing Handicap in each foursome and adjusted at the time the Handicap Indexes are captured prior to each week’s league play day.
- Example: Player A has a GHIN Playing Handicap of 2 and Player B has a GHIN Playing Handicap of 5. Player A will play using 0 strokes and Player B will play using 3 strokes. Player B will receive 2 strokes on the front nine and 1 stroke on the back nine.
- Teams who’s opponents are not available to play on league day will “play the course” and receive full handicap.
- When “playing the course” a team must join another group to play the round with. Putt everything out, NO “gimmies”.
SCORING
- The team, in the case of Spring League, or individual player, in the case of Summer League, with the lowest net score on a hole will receive 1 point. If there is a tie for lowest score, ½ point will be awarded each team or individual. A total of 9 points are available for net scores.
- An addition of 2 points will be awarded to the team and 1 point to the individual in the case of Summer League who wins the most holes with a gross score. In the case of a tie for holes won by gross score each team or individual will receive half of the additional points.
- A team or individual, “playing the course” will receive 1 point for a net score better than par on a hole and ½ point for a net score equaling par on a hole and both gross points.
- A team or individual not able to play on league night will receive 0 points for that round.
- In the case of a scheduled “bye” week, no points will be awarded to that team.
SUBSTITUTIONS
- A substitute for a team player may be used, but at least one team member must be present and play.
- Substitutes are not required to be BRMA members, but they MUST have an active and current GHIN handicap and provide their current GHIN number prior to play.
- A substitute’s handicap must be within 2 strokes of the player they are subbing for and fall between the low and high handicaps of the respective flight. A substitute with a handicap greater than 2 strokes over the player being subbed for, can play down to the 2 stroke over value.
- Substitutes must be approved by the League Director, Dennis Higgins, prior to them playing a match. The preferred method would be to send an email to [email protected] ASAP prior to the match with the substitutes name and GHIN number and the name of the person they are subbing for. If this is not done, they must check in before teeing off, with the League Director in order to verify handicap info, including current GHIN number, and have their score card updated if needed. If a sub is not approved prior to play, the substitute’s scores may not be used.
- If you are interested in being a league substitute please email your info to Dennis Higgins, [email protected]. Please include your first and last names, email, phone number and GHIN number.
REGISTRATION
- ALL TEAMS may sign up when registration opens.
- Teams with both players returning from the prior year’s league play MUST pay in full during registration to have their spot reserved for the current year. Both players MUST be BRMA members and have an active and current GHIN number and be paid in full.
- If 1 player from a prior year’s league team is returning and the other player is not, the team’s spot will go to the returning player and he may register with his new partner and the team MUST pay in full during registration to have their spot reserved for the current year. Both players MUST be BRMA members and have an active and current GHIN number and be paid in full.
- All other teams who register will go on a wait list and should NOT pay anything at the time they register.
- The wait list will be ordered based on the number of prior and current year BRMA events the teams players participated in.
- At the end of the registration period, if there are openings, teams on the wait list will be contacted, in order, and invited to complete the registration process and MUST pay in full at that time to claim a spot. Both players MUST be BRMA members and have an active and current GHIN number at the time of payment.
League registration will be done online using Golf Genius. See items 2 & 3 above for returning teams. New teams can get on the wait list by sending Dennis Higgins an email at [email protected] with the team member’s names, emails and GHIN #s. See items 5 above for how the wait list is ordered.
